Pompi Celebrates Africa’s Christian Heritage On New Song “Africa”
Multi-award-winning Zambian artist Pompi returns with a powerful and thought-provoking new single titled “Africa,” a song inspired by his recent visit to Lalibela, one of the continent’s most historic and spiritually significant locations.
According to Pompi, the inspiration behind the song came during a visit to Ethiopia alongside his wife, where the couple took time to reflect on Africa’s rich Christian heritage, remarkable history and the resilience that has defined the continent for generations.
Those reflections eventually gave birth to “Africa,” a record that celebrates the continent’s strength, identity, faith and lasting influence on the world. Through uplifting lyrics and powerful storytelling, Pompi shines a light on a side of Africa that is often overlooked — its deep spiritual roots and historic contribution to Christianity.
Rather than focusing on the challenges that frequently dominate conversations about the continent, Pompi chooses to highlight Africa’s beauty, resilience and enduring legacy, encouraging listeners to embrace pride in their identity and heritage.
