The Entertainment Industry Marches On: Shape up or Ship Out!
A rant by Rev Walter Mwambazi
I have observed “proudly” from the terraces the rate at which Zambia’s own “Sampa the Great” has risen in her influence internationally and it gives us all a sense of national pride to see one of our own grow so big and establish our nationality among the “greats” on the world stage.
It was therefore disheartening to see her feature a picture of herself “bare breasted” with a skimpy top in the Wonderland fashion shoot.
A cursory study of Sampa the Great shows a very strong and determined gifted young artist carving out her place yet, this shoot reminds me always of who is in charge in the nefarious entertainment industry.
I won’t even bother going into a deciphering of her very telling album title #asabovesobelow which definitely speaks of a well known adage in the esoteric arts.
This is why I always warn my fellow gospel artists, producers and performers to beware that they don’t take their gifts and mix the holy with the profane as they offer up “strange fire” to Yah (God).
Truth be told these serve another god. This is the same god many artists give homage to at their award ceremonies. It’s not Yah! It’s another (the god of this age).
I have seen a number of our local artists also delve into this same space (esoteric occultism) for which the masses have absolutely no clue, but runs the industry.
Please be vigilant!
PS: This is one of the hardest rants I have had to do because I always root for our Zambians making waves in the industry, but this would be neglecting my duty as a watchman.
Those of you in this industry be aware, don’t sell your being to soul merchants who trade in bodies and souls of men (and women) and will gladly offer you up as a sacrifice to their god!
I am aware many happily and willingly do so for fame, power and fortune, but what worth is it if it confines your soul to external damnation in hell fire?
Think about this.
