Spirit of Africa 2026 Hosts African Achievement Awards Celebrating Sports, Culture and Community Leaders
The AFRICAN ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS, in collaboration with Cocreative Culture and The Spirit of Africa 2026, proudly presented the Sports-Themed Awards during a vibrant and memorable celebration held at the Seattle Center. The event brought together community leaders, elected officials, athletes, coaches, creatives, and supporters from across the Pacific Northwest in a powerful celebration of African excellence, unity, and cultural pride.
The Sports-Themed Awards were created to honor African soccer teams, players, coaches, and community leaders while helping launch excitement and community activation leading toward the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026. The evening highlighted the growing impact of sports as a bridge that connects cultures, empowers youth, and strengthens communities locally and globally.
Among the distinguished honorees were Seattle Mayor Katie B. Wilson, King County Executive Girmay Zahilay, SeaTac Mayor Mohamed Egal, respected community elders, and several leaders recognized for their contributions to diversity, inclusion, youth empowerment, and community development.

Dr. Davies Chirwa, Producer of the awards and Founder of the African Achievement Awards, shared the organizationβs mission and vision before introducing elected officials and special guests for the awards presentation.
