The prestigious Diamond Media Personality of the Year Awards (POTYAs) have returned for their fifth annual edition, and the nominees have been unveiled in a lavish ceremony held at the Taj Pamodzi Hotel in Lusaka. This event marks a momentous occasion in recognizing outstanding media figures who have made remarkable contributions to Zambia’s media landscape.
This year’s POTYAs saw an overwhelming response, with an astonishing 300,000 entries submitted. From this impressive pool, over 80 exceptional nominees have emerged, spanning across 20 diverse categories. What sets this year apart is the introduction of the inaugural Rising Star Category, adding an exciting new dimension to the awards and heightening the anticipation surrounding the event.
The POTYAs encompass a total of 30 categories, with 20 of them open to public voting. This inclusive approach allows the audience to actively participate in honoring their favorite media personalities and figures who have left an indelible mark on the industry. The remaining 10 categories will be rigorously judged by the esteemed Awards Council, ensuring that excellence is duly recognized.
The highly anticipated awards ceremony is scheduled for November 9, 2023, promising an evening of celebration and recognition. As the nominees prepare for this prestigious event, the entire nation eagerly awaits to see who will be crowned as the 2023 Diamond Media Personality of the Year Award winners.
