On his debut EP TOO LATE TOO LIT, KDDO deftly threads an Afrocentric impulse between R&B, hip-hop, and house soundbeds.
The Lagos-born artist/producer reunites with Davido on “Beamer Body,” ropes Cassper Nyovest into the amapiano-tinged “eWallet,” and taps The Cavemen for the high-life-infused “Holy Ghost Fire.” While Sho Madjozi adds color to “20 Something,” the nostalgic chords of the Bas- and Jidenna-assisted “Party” display KDDO’s sonic dexterity.
