The track is a vulnerable exploration of heartbreak and emotional pretense capturing the bittersweet space of pretending to have moved on.
“Over You” is a heartfelt exploration of heartbreak and the emotional aftermath of a relationship’s end. Fusing nostalgic and contemporary sounds, Mag44 pays tribute to Zambian music pioneers P.K. Chishala and Victor Kachaka. Blending the distorted guitars of Zamrock, the infectious log drums of Amapiano, and a modern Hip Hop bounce — creating a soundscape that’s both timeless and progressive. “It’s about that space where you’re not quite over them, but pretending you are.”
