Musician-Cum-Graphic Designer Spyral Mwenya Dies in Accident

Tributes are pouring in for musician-cum-graphic designer Spyral Mwenya, who tragically passed away today following a road accident in Mzuzu over the weekend. Known for his captivating storytelling style that matched catchy melodies and stunning visuals, Mwenya’s death is being described as a significant loss to both the music and graphic design industries.

Tsar Leo, a close friend of Mwenya, informed local media houses that the artist died in a head-on collision while traveling from a relative’s funeral in Mzuzu. The news has shocked the community, and tributes have been flowing in from fellow musicians and fans alike.

Prominent figures such as Kell Kay, Tuno Mw, Phyzix, and Don Tarz have expressed their condolences. Gospel songbird Wendy Harawa shared her grief, saying, β€œOh no, no Abale! Lord have mercy upon us, give us more life by your will to live the purpose. May His soul rest in peace.”

In the wake of his passing, many people have flocked to his social media accounts, commenting on a Facebook post he made last Thursday where he said, “The best thing to do with Malawi is to leave.” This poignant statement has resonated deeply with fans and followers, highlighting his impact on the community.

Spyral, born Kennedy Mwenye on June 13, 1995, hailed from Chikulamayembe village in the Rumphi district. He was set to release a new song on June 13, but postponed it to the first week of July following the death of Malawi’s vice president, Saulos Chilima, who perished in a plane crash alongside eight others.

Until his untimely death, Spyral Mwenya was working as a graphic designer for FD Communications. His artistic contributions and vibrant personality will be greatly missed by those who knew him and the many fans who admired his work.

Spyral Mwenya’s death marks a profound loss, and his legacy will undoubtedly live on through his music and art. The community mourns the loss of a talented individual whose creativity and passion touched many lives. May his soul rest in peace.
