Musician-Cum-Graphic Designer Spyral Mwenya Dies in Accident
Tributes are pouring in for musician-cum-graphic designer Spyral Mwenya, who tragically passed away today following a road accident in Mzuzu over the weekend. Tsar Leo, a close friend of Mwenya, informed local media houses that the artist died in a head-on collision while traveling from a relative’s funeral in Mzuzu. The news has shocked the community, and tributes have been flowing in from fellow musicians and fans alike.

Spyral, born Kennedy Mwenye on June 13, 1995, hailed from Chikulamayembe village in the Rumphi district. He was set to release a new song on June 13, but postponed it to the first week of July following the death of Malawi’s vice president, Saulos Chilima, who perished in a plane crash alongside eight others.
Until his untimely death, Spyral Mwenya was working as a graphic designer for FD Communications. His artistic contributions and vibrant personality will be greatly missed by those who knew him and the many fans who admired his work.
