Mwiza Zulu And Four Other Zesco Activists Demands 5 Million Kwacha From Zesco After 3 Hour Detain At The Showgrounds
Mwiza Zulu and her team from Fixzesco have vowed to take legal action against ZESCO following an incident. The fixzesco activists were detained for three hours at the Lusaka Showgrounds.
The youth activists were apprehended after storming the ZESCO stand, protesting the company’s controversial management of power rationing.
According to reports, Zulu and her team were forcibly taken to an unknown location, where their cellphones were confiscated, and they were held in a canopy under what Zulu described as brutal conditions.
The incident has sparked outrage, with many criticizing ZESCO for its handling of the situation. In response, Zulu has issued a formal letter to ZESCO, demanding a response within a week.
If ZESCO fails to address their grievances, the activists plan to file a lawsuit seeking 5 million Kwacha in damages, citing the unlawful detention and mistreatment they endured.
