Copperbelt rap heavyweight Y Celeb has released a new music video for his latest song, “Dobo,” a record that challenges the stereotypes society often attaches to people who smoke marijuana. The song questions the assumption that marijuana users cannot achieve success, highlighting how quick judgements can cause people to overlook an individual’s potential and ambitions.
Through “Dobo,” Y Celeb addresses the perception that a person’s habits automatically determine their future or ability to succeed. The track challenges listeners to look beyond social labels and recognise that people should not be defined solely by stereotypes. Rather than accepting society’s assumptions as facts, the song encourages a broader perspective on how individuals are judged and viewed by others.
For this release, Y Celeb teams up with Vocalist Zm, bringing another voice into the collaboration. Their combined contribution gives the record its own identity while keeping the focus on the message behind the song. The accompanying music video brings the latest release to the screen, giving fans a visual experience to accompany Y Celeb’s commentary on social perceptions and judgement.
With “Dobo,” Y Celeb adds another thought-provoking release to his catalogue, using music to challenge a common stereotype and encourage listeners to look beyond assumptions when assessing other people’s potential.
