Yo Maps & Ngozi Family’s Chrissy Zebby Tembo Earn AFRIMA 2025 Nominations
Zambia is proudly flying its flag high at the forthcoming 2025 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) as two of the country’s finest acts, Yo Maps and Chrissy Zebby Tembo with the Ngozi Family, have earned nominations in prestigious categories.
Yo Maps lands a nod for his hit single Mr & Mrs, while Zamrock pioneers Ngozi Family are recognized for their powerful record I Am Not Made of Iron.
Yo Maps secured a spot in the highly competitive Best Male Artiste in Southern Africa category, going head-to-head with heavyweight names like Zimbabwe’s Jah Prayzah, South Africa’s Nasty C, Tyler ICU, Wanitwamos, and Mozambique’s Anderson Mário.
Meanwhile, Chrissy Zebby Tembo and the Ngozi Family proudly fly the Zamrock flag with their nomination in the Best African Artiste, Duo or Group in African Rock category, alongside Ethiopia’s Laeke, Algeria’s Izlan, Cameroon’s Franck Biyong, Kenya’s Rash, and Niger’s Mdou Moctar.
This dual recognition not only underlines Zambia’s contemporary music dominance through Yo Maps but also honors its Zamrock heritage with Ngozi Family. The 2025 AFRIMA, in partnership with the African Union Commission (AUC), will be hosted in Lagos, Nigeria, from November 25–30, 2025.
The ceremony on November 30 will be broadcast live to over 80 countries. Public voting opens on September 10, 2025, via the AFRIMA website, giving fans a chance to support their favorites.
