Yo Maps Takes Legal Steps to Secure Custody of His Daughter
Zambian music sensation Elton Mulenga, popularly known as Yo Maps, has officially filed for primary custody of his daughter, Bukata, at the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court.
In his submission, the award-winning artist expressed his desire to raise Bukata in the same nurturing environment he and his wife, Kiddist Kiffle, provide for their other child. He emphasized that he has consistently fulfilled his parental responsibilities and is ready to offer Bukata a stable and loving home.
In his plea, Yo Maps accused Bukata’s mother, Prudence Nakamba better known as Mwizukanji of repeatedly denying him access to his daughter without justification.
He revealed that despite making efforts to spend quality time with Bukata during weekends, holidays, and special events, those requests have often been blocked. As part of his court submission, he presented WhatsApp conversations as evidence to support his claims.
In a show of support, Kiddist Kiffle told the court that Yo Maps has been a hands-on and responsible parent. She noted that they both ensure Bukata’s school fees, maintenance, and general welfare are prioritized. The court is yet to deliver a ruling on the matter, which has sparked wide public interest given the family’s visibility in Zambian entertainment circles.
