Sampa The Great Taps Grammy-Nominated Sia For “Supernova” On “NU ZAMROCK”

Zambian-born, award-winning artist Sampa The Great is taking her upcoming NU ZAMROCK era to another level, teaming up with Australian superstar Sia on a new song titled “Supernova.”

The collaboration will feature on Sampa The Great’s highly anticipated upcoming album NU ZAMROCK,” which is set to arrive on 30 October 2026. The project represents a new chapter in Sampa’s artistic journey as she explores the sound, heritage and spirit of Zamrock through her own contemporary creative vision.

Sia, whose real name is Sia Kate Isobelle Furler, is an Australian singer and songwriter born in Adelaide, Australia. She has become one of Australia’s biggest international music exports, achieving global success both as a solo artist and as a songwriter for some of the world’s biggest performers.

Her breakthrough as a major global solo star came with “Chandelier” in 2014, a worldwide hit from her No. 1 album 1000 Forms of Fear. She later scored her first Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 with “Cheap Thrills” featuring Sean Paul in 2016.

Beyond her own catalogue, Sia has also established herself as a highly sought-after songwriter, having written or co-written major songs for artists including Rihanna, Beyoncé, Katy Perry, Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue.

Her achievements include 10 ARIA Awards and nine Grammy Award nominations, while “Chandelier” earned four Grammy nominations at the 57th Grammy Awards, including Song of the Year and Record of the Year.

That résumé makes Sia’s appearance on “Supernova” a significant international collaboration for Sampa The Great, particularly as the song forms part of an album built around a new interpretation of Zamrock.

The collaboration also adds another international dimension to NU ZAMROCK, following Sampa’s recent unveiling of “Simon Says” and the announcement of the album’s 30 October release date.

For Sampa, the project is rooted in Zambian musical heritage while looking towards the future. Her connection to Groovy George (George Kunda), one of the founding members of Zamrock and her blood uncle, has further reinforced the album’s focus on bloodline, legacy and passing music from one generation to another.

Now, with Sia joining the project on “Supernova,” Sampa The Great is bringing together her Zambian roots and an internationally acclaimed Australian voice for what could be one of the standout collaborations on NU ZAMROCK.
