Umusepela Chile “Son Of Man” EP a Brimstone

Umusepela Chile under the headphone record label has released his extended play ( EP ) tagged as Son Of Man and it is fire like no one expected and was worth the wait as the manager, Jay Rox had asked and told fans to brace themselves for the impact the EP was going to make in the industry.

It is the first ever EP from the upcoming fearless hip hop artist and the odds of him getting on top are not stack against him. The EP has 8 tracks and have comprehensive stories that captivates our imaginations.

The first song on the body of work is  ‘’Son Of Man’’, which is also the EP’s title, tells a story of him having a phone conversation with God. This song will make you quiver because the lyrics will put you in the middle of the conversation and make you just have an epiphany.

Lion Of Juda is the second song of the EP and it features folk icon Mumba Yachi.  On the song  Umusepela talks about his passion for music and a bit of his life history before he officially took music as a career. The theories surrounding music industry and deals with the devil or famously known as the illuminati. Which some of his family has.

Umusepela Chile takes us deep in the EP  with Song #3  which is a sequel of the last released song titled ‘’black Jesus’’. and Jay Rox continues to mentor him about the industry and the business side of things. They continue to have a conversation that will impart him with needed knowledge.

Queen of hearts features Trina South and comes at list  #4. Umusepela Chile is a unique rapper, and that can be confirmed in this track. He goes hard on his nagging wife who he loves wholeheartedly been claims she does not love her. It talks about love, trust and a pinch of the wife trying to manipulate him with her false feelings which he won’t buy because he knows her tricks, we can not help but to picture him sitting across the bed, on the edge, having a conversation with her and her not facing him. Giving her back with her head down.

On track #5 he tagged Zar The Supreme who plays the Doctor in the ‘’Emergency Room’’. Chile wakes up in the emergency room obliviously, and in shock and he expresses his fear of death, Zar tries to calm him down. Zar of course goes strong with his unique toying around with words and rhyming. The tone of Chile’s voice in the song was so real that it takes our imaginations to a whole new high level.

Dear Memo is about a young woman who has been sexually abused by her stepfather for many years and she goes to expose him in Chile’s inbox. Sure enough, Umusepela Chile responds to her message bu the ends in a twist, this song can only be complete when you watch a video and it will leave you in suspense, what a creative way to put up a track. This is track n #6

on track #7 he brought F Jay the king of Rn’B and delivered an impressive chorus giving the song more power. In this song he talks about cutting off bad energies as he was coming up to be where he is now. There is a lot of challenges we can sense in the song that Chile faced on the come up and he tells well in this song.

Table manners he brought along fellow Headphone squadron Ace Trap to deliver a final piece of the puzzle and which has befitting message to everyone, randomly and closes the chapter on a good note. It is a track #8.

We have to commend Jay Rox for really being at the helm of this EP and putting together songs that can resonate with current situations and deliver the right message to fans across the nation and beyond. The collaboration with Mumba Yachi, that was 100 percent well thought out, we give it 10 out of 10. the producers did a good job too especially the BeatFreak he clicked well with Umusepela Chile so much so that we think one is a fruit and the other one is a loop.
For now, we can confirm and be satisfied that indeed Zambian hip hop is in good hands.

Overall, we have rated the Son Of Man EP  8.5 because it is a piece one can recommend to others and sure enough to put on repeat and hard to skip a track.
