Budding Zambian rapper Way Dee has returned with yet another street hip-hop anthem titled “Cut,” a record centred on the decision to remove fake people and friends from one’s life. The new release taps into the realities of navigating relationships and recognising when certain people no longer deserve a place in your circle.
For the new track, Way Dee teams up with multi-award-winning rap icon Bobby East, bringing together two voices from Zambia’s hip-hop scene for a collaboration built around the message of cutting off fake friendships and negative influences. The pairing adds further weight to the street-focused record as Way Dee continues to establish his presence in the local rap space.
The accompanying music video was directed by Diego Clement, giving “Cut” a visual dimension that complements the song’s message. With its relatable subject matter and collaboration with Bobby East, Way Dee’s latest release continues his run of street-oriented hip-hop records while delivering a clear message about knowing when to let certain people go.
